""Es ist beinah pervers, diese Platte nicht zu besitzen", schreibt Nick Hornby in seinem Roman "High Fidelity" über Bob Dylans "Blonde On Blonde". Nun, so radikal wollen wir vielleicht doch nicht sein, aber wer sich "Blonde On Blonde" in der limitierten Auflage von MFSL nicht gönnt, der verpasst schon wirklich etwas: drei LPs aus 180 g schwerem Vinyl mit 45 rpm, in einer schicken schwarzen Box mit großformatigem Booklet mit vielen Fotos - und natürlich eines der wichtigsten und besten Dylan-Alben überhaupt. Dylans Songwriting war auf einem nie gekannten qualitativen Höhepunkt angekommen, und die in lockerer Jam-Atmosphäre im Studio in Nashville mit zahlreichen lokalen Musikern entstandenen Aufnahmen zeigen, dass es nicht ganz richtig ist, zu behaupten, Dylan hätte ab 1965 vom Folk zum Rock umgeschwenkt: vielmehr kreierte er aus Rock- und Country-Elementen seinen ganz eigenen, ungeschliffenen Sound - typisch Dylan eben. Dass solche ans Epische grenzende Nummern wie das 11-minütige "Sad Eyed Lady Of The Lowlands" (im Original eine komplette LP-Seite) in einem einzigen Take ohne Overdubs live aufgenommen wurden, kann man heute kaum glauben. Und neben diesem legendären Track gibt es auf diesem Album auch noch "Sonner Or Later", "Rainy Day Women #12 & 35", "Stuck Inside Of Mobile", "Just Like A Woman", und und und... Ja, diese Platte sollte man wirklich haben und sich von der genialen Musik und der überragenden Klangqualität verzaubern lassen. ..........
