Audio ............... Rechtzeitig zum 50. Geburtstag des US-Multi-Musikers Steve Miller legt das Edel-Label DCC eine 24-Karat-Goldedition seines platin-veredelten Millionen-Sellers auf. Eine gleich in doppelter Hinsicht lohnende Entscheidung: Zum einen glänzt die Scheibe mit durchweg hochkarätigen Songs, darunter drei Top-twenty-Hits (Take The Money And Run, Rock'n Me und der Titelsong), zum anderen befreiten die kalifornischen Klangspezialisten die immerhin 17 Jahre alte Aufnahme von ihrem Muff, so daß Millers spaciger Stereo-Sound anno 1993 wieder voll anmacht. ............... © Audio ............... ............... Steve Millers mit Abstand erfolgreichstes Album lieferte 1976 die Hitsingles "Take The Money And Run", "Rock 'n Me" und "Fly Like An Eagle" und stellte für alle nachfolgenden Aufnahmen des Amerikaners die Blaupause dar - auch bei seiner neuesten Platte "Wide River" griff Miller auf diese Quelle zurück. 1979 machte eine im Halfspeed-Verfahren gefertigte Vinylüberspielung (MFSL 1-021) des "Fly Like An Eagle"-Masters unter HiFi- Enthusiasten Furore, und diese LP muß auch heute noch als klangtechnische Referenz gelten.
