An audiophile CD reissue of guitarist Joshua Breakstone's second recording as a leader (originally out on Sonora), this was Breakstone's first opportunity to record with pianist Kenny Barron. With bassist Earl Sauls and drummer Victor Jones completing the quartet, the guitarist is heard not only on the seven selections that formed the earlier LP, but also on six previously unreleased selections (only two of which are alternate takes). Breakstone's boppish single-note style was already recognizable, and he sounds in fine form during such numbers as "You Say You Care," "Cherokee," "I Could Write a Book" and even two versions of "When the Red, Red Robin Comes Bob, Bob, Bobbin' Along." ................. ************************************************************************************************** .......
