Zu Beginn der 80er musste sich Taylor mit der zerrütteten Beziehung mit Carly Simon auseinander setzen. Und genau diese Schwierigkeiten zwischen Mann und Frau verarbeitet er in diesem Album. Kein Wunder also, dass es seine persönlichsten und emotionalsten Aufnahmen sind. Kraftvolle Melodien, musikalisch sehr vielfältig umgesetzt (u.a. mit Hammond-Orgel und Synthesizer) und einem überwältigenden Chor, der „That Lonesome Road“ zu einem traumhaft schönen Titel macht. Das mitreißende „Stand And Fight“, das Duett mit Kollege J.D.
