*************************************************************************************************** Rezension: Der Titel ist gerechtfertigt: Das argentinisch-französische Ensemble hat den Tango nun zum dritten Male neuerfunden, ohne sich zu wiederholen. Die Verknüpfung von Bandoneon-Melancholie und pulsierenden House-Beats funktioniert ungebrochen, weil die traditionellen Elemente immer deutlich die Oberhand behalten; es handelt sich mitnichten um eine Kommerzialisierung oder Verwässerung, sondern um eine so behutsame wie stilsichere Modernisierung – so etwas hat Seltenheitswert. Neu ist, wie das Gotan Project seinen Neo-Tango erweitert – und etwa Buenos Aires mit New Orleans verheiratet wie im Opener "Tango Square" (mit Dr. John himself am Klavier!) oder in "De Hombre A Hombre" italienische Western-Scores und kalifornische Surfgitarren integriert. Auch nach über zehn Jahren und erstaunlichen zwei Millionen verkauften Tonträgern bleibt diese Band eine echte Ausnahmeerscheinung, die vielleicht auch deswegen so selten Alben veröffentlicht, um sicher zu gehen, daß diese auch wirklich innovative Ideen enthalten. Bislang hat das sehr gut geklappt.
