******************************************************************************************** Mein Vaterland (tschechisch Má vlast) ist ein Zyklus von sechs sinfonischen Dichtungen des tschechischen Komponisten Bedřich Smetana, der als vollständiges Werk am 5. November 1882 in Prag uraufgeführt wurde. Smetana komponierte den Zyklus zwischen 1874 und 1879. Der populärste Teil des Zyklus ist Die Moldau (Vltava). Die Komposition des Zyklus steht in engem thematischem Zusammenhang mit der Oper Libusa aus dem Jahr 1872, die Smetana als nationales Festspiel konzipiert hatte. Der Zyklus, dessen Entstehungszeit von der völligen Ertaubung des Komponisten überschattet war, war zunächst als Vierteiler geplant; erst nach einer dreijährigen Schaffenspause entstanden die letzten beiden Teile. Themen des Zyklus sind Mythen (1, 3), Landschaft (2, 4) und Geschichte (5, 6) von Smetanas tschechischer Heimat. Die Aufführung von Mein Vaterland bildet traditionell jedes Jahr am 12. Mai, dem Todestag des Komponisten, die Eröffnung des musikalischen Prager Frühlings. ********************************************************************************************* Titel................ 1. Blanik - 14:28............... ****************************************************************************************** Vysehrad: Die Harfe des Sängers Lumir erklang auf dem stolzen Vysehrad dem Sitze der böhmischen Fürsten und Könige. Die Burg erstrahlte in Ruhm und Glanz. Wilde Kämpfe kamen und mit ihnen erblaßte die Pracht des Vysehrad Wie ein Echo ertönt über ihm der längst verklungene Gesang Lumirs. Die Moldau: Aus zwei Quellen entspringt sie, plätschert munter im Gestein und glitzert in der Sonne, sie wird breiter, ihre Ufer hallen von Jagdfanfaren und ländlichen Tänzen wider. – Mondschein, Nymphenreigen. – Sie gelangt zu den St. Johannes-Stromschnellen, an deren Felsen ihre Wellen zu schäumender Gischt zerspritzen. Von dort strömt sie breit hin gen Prag, wo sie der altehrwürdige Vysehrad begrüßt. Sárka: Betrogen in der Liebe, schwört sie Rache dem ganzen Männergeschlecht und läßt sich listigerweise von ihren Gefährtinnen, den Amazonen, im Walde an einen Baum binden. Mit fröhlichern Gefolge reitet der Ritter Ctirad vorbei, erblickt die gefesselte Sárka, und entbrennt zugleich in Liebe zu ihr. Das ganze Gefolge läßt sich zum fröhlichen Zechengelage nieder, der Metbecher kreist, bis alle ermüdet einschlafen, Da stürmen auf einen Hornruf Sárkas ihre streitbaren Gefährtinnen herbei und morden die schlafenden Mannen. Aus Böhmens Hain und Flur: Das Herz jubelt vor Freude ob der Schönheit des Böhmerlandes, dessen gesegnete Auen sich dem Blick bis fern an den Horizont weiten. Ein leichtes Lüftchen säuselt im Haine, von fernher nähern sich die Klänge eines ländlichen Festes, bis die ganze Flur von Tanz und Gesang erschallt. Tábor: Das ist die feste Burg, von den Hussiten gegründet, zu Schutz und Trotz der kriegerischen Scharen. "Wer da ist ein Gotteskämpfer" tönt der düstere Choral, der die Streiter entflammt, aber Grauen verbreitet in den Reihen der Feinde. Es ist die Zeit böhmischer Kraft und Größe. Blanik: Die Heiden der Hussitenzeit ruhen im Berge Blanik. Hirten weiden auf seinem Abhange ihre Herden. Unheil kommt über das Land. Da steigen gen die Ritter herauf, bringen Sieg und Rettung. Und in neuem Glanze strahlt der Ruhm des Böhmerlandes. ********************************************************************************************* Vysehrad: The harp of the singer Lumir sounded on the proud Vysehrad the seat of the Bohemian princes and kings. Blanik: The Hussite pagans rest in Blanik. Shepherds graze their herds on its slope. Misfortune comes over the country. The knights rise up, bring victory and salvation. And in new splendor shines the fame of the Bohemian country. ******************************************************************************************* My Fatherland (Czech Má vlast) is a cycle of six symphonic poems by the Czech composer Bedřich Smetana, which was premiered as a complete work on November 5, 1882 in Prague. Smetana composed the cycle between 1874 and 1879. The most popular part of the cycle is the Vltava. The composition of the cycle is closely related to the opera Libusa from 1872, which Smetana had conceived as a national festival.
