Die Box gibt es in einer 10.000er, fortlaufend in Goldprägedruck nummerierten Auflage. „One Of These Nights“ ist das vierte Studioalbum der Band. Es erschien am 10. Juni 1975. Mit über 4 Millionen verkauften Tonträgern wurde es das erste Nummer-1-Album der US-Amerikaner. Drei ausgekoppelte Singles kletterten an die Spitze der Charts. Es waren „One of These Nights“ (1), „Lyin Eyes“ (2) und „Take It To The Limit“ (4). Was Glenn Frey (Leadgesang, Gitarren, Keyboard, Harmonium), Don Henley (Leadgesang, Schlagzeug, Tablas), Randy Meisner (Leadgesang, Bass, Gitarre), Bernie Leadon (Leadgesang, Gitarren, Banjo, Mandoline) und Don Felder (Leadgesang, Gitarren, Orgel) hier auf diesem Werk kreierten, ist musikalisch und klangtechnisch wirklich auf höchstem Niveau. Durch die Neu-Edition, die nun alles möglich machbare aus den Aufnahmen rausholt, macht das Neu-Hören richtig Freude. Los geht es mit dem Titelstück. „One of These Nights“ ist eine Komposition von Don Henley und Glenn Frey. Henley übernimmt hier auch den Leadgesang. An der Lead-Gitarre glänzt Don Felder. Sein Gitarrensolo ist hervorragend aufgebaut. Jeder Ton ist genau da, wo er hingehört. Richtig klasse ist der Wechsel von Solo-Gesang und Harmonie-Gesang. „Too Many Hands“ ist eine Meisner- / Felder-Komposition. Meisner glänzt hier stimmlich am Mikrofon. Die expressiven Gitarrensoli teilen sich Felder und Frey. „Hollywood Waltz“ gewinnt durch den gekonnten Einsatz vonMandoline und Pedal-Steel-Gitarre, beides gespielt von Henley. Einen satten Soundteppich weben Bernie Leadon am Harmonium und Frey am Synthesizer. Beim Instrumental „Journey of the Sorcerer“ kommt neben Banjo (Bernie Leadin) und Fiddle (David Bromberg) auch das The Royal Martian Orchestra zum Einsatz. Übrigens wählte Douglas Adams das Lied als Titelsong für die BBC-Produktion (1978/1979) seines Hörspiels „Per Anhalter durch die Galaxis“ aus. „Lyin' Eyes“ lebt von dem vorwärtstreibenden Groove und den eingängigen Hooklines, die diesen Song zum Hit machten. Das angenehme, countryeske Feeling tut sein Übriges dazu. Auch brachte „Lyin' Eyes“ der Band ihren ersten Grammy ein. „I Wish You Peace“ ist nicht nur ein frommer Wunsch sondern ein weiterer Höhepunkt des 43 Minuten 15 Sekunden langen Albums. Aufgenommen wurde es in den Mac Emmermans Criteria Studios in Miami, Forida, USA, und in den Record Plant Studios in Los Angeles, Kalifornien, USA. Die Einspielungen fanden im Zeitraum von 1974 bis 1975 statt. Diese Edition ist musikalisch, repertoiremäßig, musikhistorisch und klangtechnisch ein Volltreffer. In einem Interview mit dem Journalisten Cameron Crowe sagte einst Don Henley: „Das waren dunkle Zeiten in Amerika, politisch und musikalisch. Bill Szymczyks ausgezeichnete Produktion machte “One Of These Nights” zu einem der glänzendsten Pop-Werke der 70er; die Westcoast-Wurzeln schimmern nur noch gelegentlich durch (“Hollywood Waltz”). Devised by West Texas artist Boyd Elder, the striking skull-and-feathers themed piece gracing the front of One of These Nights represents where the Eagles have been and where they were headed. Album art director Gary Burden explained: "The cow skull is pure cowboy, folk, the decorations are American Indian-inspired, and the future is represented by the more polished reflective glass beaded surfaces covering the skull." Moreover, Elder had met the group years earlier when Henley and company performed at one of his gallery openings in California. MoFi's UD1S box set allows Elder's vision (and Burden's debossed treatment of the image) to pop and appear as if it was a standalone object. Though One of These Nights marks the final appearance of band co-founder Bernie Leadon on an Eagles LP and contains three of his tunes, the record's tremendous success owes to Frey and Henley's timeless contributions.
