Recorded at Capitol Tower Studios, Hollywood, California in December, 1956. Released in the days when albums were not promoted by extracting individual tracks and issuing them as singles, this was the first opportunity that young record-buyers had of hearing Nat Cole sing "When I Fall In Love" and "Stardust," songs with which he would forever be identified. Composer Hoagy Carmichael, who wrote "Stardust" with Mitchell Parish, always maintained that this version, complete with the lovely verse, was his personal favourite.
