************************************************************************************************* Rezension: Man staunt, wie sich diese Band, wiewohl rein personell quasi mit jedem Album expandierend, den intimen Charakter ihrer Musik bewahrt. Ursprünglich als Duo aus Andrew Martin (Gesang, Mandoline, Gitarre) und Emily Frantz (Gesang, Fiddle, Gitarre) begonnen, besteht das Ensemble nun zusätzlich aus einem Organisten (Josh Oliver) sowie aus einer Rhythmussektion (Bassist Clint Mullican und Drummer Joe Westerlund). Gelegentlich hört man gar eine elektrische Gitarre. Aber sämtliche Musiker agieren mit größter Behutsamkeit und bewundernswertem Understatement. Der Fluß, der dabei entsteht, ist noch weicher als bei den Akustik-Sets der Grateful Dead; der warme, sehnsuchtsvolle Harmoniegesang treibt einem Tränen der Rührung in die Augen. Americana auf denkbar höchstem Niveau, dabei überhaupt nicht akademisch, sondern so authentisch wie nur irgend denkbar. Ein Traum von einem Album – nicht der erste, den uns diese wunderbare Band beschert.
