Und immer wenn Angus Young seinen Kurzhosen-Schulanzug anzieht gibt es kein Halten mehr. Und den hatte er bestimmt im Studio auch an. Leider konnte Malcom Young nicht mehr livehaftig mit dabei sein. Er ist es aber doch. Wie Angus Young in einem TV-Interview mitteilte, arbeiteten die Beiden schon lange an Songs und haben seinerzeit Riffs ausprobiert und aufgeschrieben. Diese kommen hier zum Einsatz. Insoweit ist er auch neben Angus Young als Mitkomponist der Songs aufgeführt. Das ist schon eine berührende Geschichte. Den Anfang des Rock-Pakets macht “Realize“. Der wieder genesene Brian Johnson klingt genauso giftig-dirty wie eh und je und stellt seine Shouter-Qualitäten mehr als beeindruckend unter Beweis. Aus einem Guß donnert das Metall-Schlagwerk aus Drummer Phil Rudd und Basser Cliff Williams los. Die Rhythmus-Gitarre bedient meisterhaft Steve Young. Mit magmaschweren Blues-Feeling kommt “Shot In The Dark“. AC/DC verstehen es wie keine andere Band mit einfachen, aber hammerhart präzise gedroschenen Licks die Songs vorwärtszuprügeln. Das erzeugt einen Wahnsinsdruck. “Hard As A Rock“ unterstreicht das nicht nur wörtlich. Und die Soli, die Mastermind Angus Young aus seiner Gibson SG kitzelnd sind einfach nur noch genial. Die sauber gepresste Vinylscheibe bläst den Staub von den Membranen der Lautsprecher. Sie kommt im spannend grafisch gestalteten Klappcover mit bedruckter Innenhülle. UND bei uns: streng limitiert in leuchtend rotem Vinyl. Let it rock! And play it loud! Limitierte Edition im roten Vinyl. ************************************************************************************************** Rezension: Back in black again: 40 Jahre nach dem letzten Gruß an Bon Scott ist dieses Album dem 2017 verstorbenen Malcolm Young gewidmet; die Songs stammen noch überwiegend aus seinem Nachlaß. Und man darf schon ein wenig beeindruckt sein, denn sie sind gut, diese Songs, und der Punch der alten Herren ist gewaltig (weiß der Himmel, woher der über siebzigjährige Brian Johnson noch diese Kraft in seinen Stimmbändern holt). Für Innovation stand diese Band noch nie, aber wer einfach nur das heilige RIFF abfeiern will, wird kaum irgendwo besser bedient. Einst wie jetzt. Album der australischen Rocklegenden, die 2020 aus Schlagzeuger Phil Rudd, Bassist Cliff Williams, den Gitarristen Angus und Stevie Young sowie Sänger Brian Johnson bestehen, der nach gesundheitlichen Problemen seine Rückkehr zur Band feiert. Zudem sollen auf dem Album auch ein paar Riffs des 2017 verstorbenen Malcolm Young zu hören sein. Mit dem Song »Shot In The Dark« erschien am 7. Oktober bereits die erste beeindruckende Single von »Power Up«. Und die zeigt: AC/DC sind 2020 so energie- und riffgeladen wie eh und je. »Power Up« ist das Rock-Comebackalbum des Jahres. For Power Up, the band reunited with producer Brendan O'Brien who helmed the double-platinum Black Ice in 2008 and the gold Rock Or Bust in 2014. Charged up for the next decade, AC/DC cut 12 new tracks for the album, proudly maintaining their signature sound and all of its powerful hallmarks. Power Up was announced with the release of the album's first single, "Shot In The Dark," and features a lineup reuniting the four surviving members of the Back in Black incarnation (Malcolm Young died in 2017, and his nephew Stevie Young has been playing in his place since 2014). Members Angus Young (lead guitar), Brian Johnson (lead vocals), Cliff Williams (bass guitar), Phil Rudd (drums), and Stevie Young (rhythm guitar) are firing on all cylinders once again. "It's been a long, long road," Angus told Rolling Stone. "But it's good that everyone came on board and we get to pump out a bit of new rock & roll for the world. At this time, with the pandemic, hopefully it gives people a few hours of toe-tapping enjoyment." The album was recorded in late 2018 and early 2019, but Angus raided the AC/DC vault of unreleased songs before they began and every track is credited to Angus and Malcolm Young "This record is pretty much a dedication to Malcolm, my brother," Young says of the band's new LP.
