Sentiment, Schmelz und Eleganz, Brillanz und Klarheit fließen hier zu einer Einheit zusammen, das Ergebnis ist eine höchst lebendige, ja fühlbar atmende Aufnahme dieses Repertoire-Schlachtschiffs – das man tatsächlich selten so schlank, so fein strukturiert gehört hat. Daß die Mohr/Layton-Aufnahme aus dem Jahre 1956 (!) heute noch beeindruckt, muß kaum eigens erwähnt werden.
