Titel: 1. Slip On Through 2. This Whole World 3. Add Some Music to Your Day 4. Got to Know the Woman 5. Deirdre 6. It's About Time 7. Tears in the Morning 8. All I Wanna Do 9. Forever 10. Our Sweet Love 11. At My Window 12. ************************************************************************************************* tracklisting .................... 1. Cool, Cool Water The ultimate pressings of the Beach Boys discography from Analogue Productions! 33 1/3 RPM Stereo only Produced by the Beach Boys Audio production — Mark Linett For Brother Records — Elliott Lott Mastered by Kevin Gray at Cohearent Audio, most from the original master tapes or best sources available Lacquer plating by Gary Salstrom and 200-gram vinyl pressing by Quality Record Pressings! "These are the best sounding and best-looking versions of the Beach Boys records that have ever been produced. We want everything about these to be better than the original." — Chad Kassem, owner and CEO, Acoustic Sounds "In retrospect this is a well-crafted, superbly recorded album that stands up well forty-six years later. And yes, it is one of the few 'true stereo' (soft) rock records ever recorded. Interestingly, the original was mastered at Artisan where Kevin Gray once worked (thought he didn't master the original). His cut here is far superior to the original in every way." — Michael Fremer, AnalogPlanet.com. Read the whole review here. "What I can say is that Kevin Gray has been able to extract every last bit of information from whatever tape is in the box, and present it in a way that is pleasing and natural to the ear. ... in my opinion, the Analogue Productions pressings are now THE definitive issue of each Beach Boys album, and will be my reference copies until if and when something better comes along — which may be never." — Lee Dempsey, Endless Summer Quarterly, Summer 2015 Edition A musical legacy that began in Hawthorne, California and went on to conquer the world. Analogue Productions presents the ultimate pressings of 14 essential Beach Boys albums! Mastered by Kevin Gray, most from the original master tapes, and plated and pressed by Quality Record Pressings, the finest LP pressing facility in the world, these are awesome recordings to experience. And the look of each album befits its sonic superiority! Presented in "old school" Stoughton tip-on jackets, these time honored favorites shine brighter than the originals! Sunflower is considered by most fans — and some of the Beach Boys themselves — to be their finest work after Pet Sounds. More so than any other Beach Boys album, it's a true group collaboration, with Carl Wilson overseeing the production and mixdowns. Brian Wilson himself was very involved in the creation of this album, which includes one of his most enduring compositions, "This Whole World," as well as an expansion of a fragment from the Smile sessions, "Cool Cool Water," featuring some of the band's most intricate and playful interlocking vocal parts. Sunflower is also the home of some of Dennis Wilson's most enduring work, including the uptempo album opener "Slip On Through," and the classic Beach Boys ballad "Forever." Sunflower, originally titled Add Some Music (after the group's initial single for Warners, "Add Some Music To Your Day," which failed to garner enough airplay to become a hit), underwent several lineup revisions before its eventual release in the late summer of 1970. The album, hailed by the U.K. music press as "The Beach Boys' Sgt. Pepper, failed to sell, despite glowing reviews and wide acclaim for its rich sonic texture (due in no small part to the efforts of Beach Boys' engineer Stephen Desper, a noted pioneer in quadrophonic and surround sound technologies). *************************************************************************************************

"These are the best sounding and best-looking versions of the Beach Boys records that have ever been produced. We want everything about these to be better than the original." — Chad Kassem, owner and CEO, Acoustic Sounds "While the consensus deems Pet Sounds to be The Beach Boys' greatest achievement, I derive much more joy from this 1971 release. Issued when the band was considered so unhip as to be beyond redemption, it featured Bruce Johnston's heartbreakingly gorgeous 'Disney Girls (1957),' famously covered by Art Garfunkel, 'Long Promised Road,' 'Til I Die,' 'Feel Flows' and the luscious title track. Surf's Up restored the band's credibility, despite Brian Wilson not dominating the proceedings. It sounds equally glorious on SACD. It was recorded for surround sound, to be heard via a Dynaco Quadaptor. Pity Acoustic Sounds didn't issue that mix, too!" — Sound Quality = 91% - Ken Kessler, HiFi News, "Years Best" Yearbook 2017 "The original Artisan Sound mastering is masterful and if you have a clean one, you're all set. This reissue is not quite as transparent but the inner detail resolution is superior as is the bottom end. If I had to guess which album(s) were cut from 'best available' as opposed to master tapes I'd pick this one simply because the top end is not as open and airy. If you don't have an original you won't know you're missing something, and you are getting inner detail and bottom end weight the original lacks." — Michael Fremer, AnalogPlanet.com. And the look of each album befits its sonic superiority! Presented in "old school" Stoughton tip-on jackets, these time honored favorites shine brighter than the originals! Worth noting on Surf's Up is Stephen Desper's engineering work — the entire album was mixed to a center channel quad matrix that he was developing at the time. Surf's Up hit the Top 30 on its first release, reaching No. 29 on the Billboard LP charts — the highest chart placement the group had had since 1967. At the time of its release, Surf's Up was hailed by many as a comeback for The Beach Boys, who were beginning to attract raves for their live performances, including highly acclaimed sets at New York's legendary Carnegie Hall. Carl Wilson makes solid contributions on Surf's Up with "Long Promised Road" and "Feel Flows," and the album also features stellar tracks by Al Jardine and Mike Love, as well as Bruce Johnston's most enduring composition, the gently nostalgic "Disney Girls (1957)," but the album's twin jewels are both from Brian Wilson — "Til I Die" and the title track — one of the centerpieces of the then-unreleased Smile (cowritten by lyricist Van Dyke Parks and here given that album's "Child Is Father to the Man" as a glorious coda.) Surf's Up track "A Day in the Life of a Tree" is the first in a series of Brian's songs that close the album. It's simultaneously one of Brian Wilson's most deeply touching and unusual compositions; he is the narrator and object of the song (though not the vocalist; co-writer Jack Rieley lends a hand), lamenting his long life amid the pollution and grime of a city park while the somber tones of a pipe organ build atmosphere. "Til I Die," isn't the love song the title suggests; it's a haunting, fatalistic piece of pop surrealism that appeared to signal Brian's retirement from active life. 1. Don’t Go Near The Water 2. (1972/2016, Pressung aktuell) *********************************************************************************************** *** Gatefold Cover Dr. John (voc, p, keyb, crt); Ronnie Barron (keyb, org, p, voc); Harold Battiste, Jr. (cl, sax); Sidney George (hca, sax); Morris Bechamin (sax, voc); Jimmy Calhoun (b); Fred Staehle (dr, perc); Richard Washington (perc); u. a. »Dr. I’m talking about new old-stock records that were ticky and crackly write out of the wrapper. One of those titles was by Dr. John, and AP recently put out his phenomenal Gumbo on 200-gram vinyl. My original copy was actually just fine, but it didn’t approach the level of magic found in these grooves. This is an unbelievable album presented unbelievably - Sound 4/5 HiFidelty. Remastered by Kevin Gray at Cohearent Audio, from the original analog tapes 200-gram vinyl plated and pressed by Quality Record Pressings! Tip-on style gatefold jacket by Stoughton Printing Dr. John's Gumbo bridged the gap between post-hippie rock and early rock & roll, blues, and R&B, offering a selection of classic New Orleans R&B, including "Tipitina" and "Junko Partner," updated with a gritty, funky beat. There aren't as many psychedelic flourishes as there were on his first two albums, but the ones that are present enhance his sweeping vision of American roots music. And that sly fusion of styles makes Dr. John's Gumbo one of Dr. John's finest albums. Dr. John's Gumbo is the fifth album by New Orleans singer and pianist Dr. John, a tribute to the music of his native city. The album is a collection of covers of New Orleans classics, played by a major figure in the city's music. Dr John's Gumbo was released in 1972 and is in many ways a tribute by Dr. John, aka the Night Tripper, to his hometown New Orleans. It features excellent interpretations of New Orleans traditionals ("Iko Iko", "Tipitina", "Junko Partner" and "Stack-O-Lee") and contemporary R&B written or played by the likes of Huey Piano Smith ("Blow Wind Blow" and "Huey Smith Medley") and Earl King ("Big Chief" and "Those Lonely Lonely Nights"). Dr. John delivers a strong set of infectious songs drenched in good vibes and spiced with a pinch of voodoo. His eccentric (stage) appearance adds unique color to his stature as master of the ivories and as an entertainer. This great album receives the full Analogue Productions reissue treatment here, starting with Kevin Gray's remaster from the original analog tapes. Then we back that up with 200-gram plating and pressing on super-silent vinyl by our own Quality Record Pressings. Finally it's all housed in a tip-on gatefold jacket from Stoughton Printing. *********************************************************************************************** Titel: Seite 1: 1. The experimental release pairs the human voice with the bass guitar, resulting in a collection of singular and soulful collaborations. Unlike much of modern music, where vocals are squelched and compression molded into something of an afterthought, Wasserman sought to create a true music record – without technology interfering. "It's kinda like being in a club. It lets you get closer to the song," Wasserman says. Not surprisingly, Duets ranks among the most breathtaking collections of popular songs issued in the '80s and it sounds better than ever on this new 200g vinyl pressing from Analogue Productions, remixed from the analog multi tracks by Joe Gastwirt and Rob Wasserman, and mastered by Kevin Gray at Cohearant Audio. Features: • 200g vinyl from Analogue Productions • 33 1/3 rpm speed LP • Remixed from analog multi tracks to 88.2/24 by Joe Gastwirt and Rob Wasserman • Mastered by Kevin Gray at Cohearant Audio • Pressed at Quality Record Pressings • Heavy cardboard stock packaging featuring 'Old-School' tip-on gatefold sleeves ******************************************************************************************** This charming collection of duets features the bass of Rob Wasserman with special guests Aaron Neville, Rickie Lee Jones, Bobby McFerrin, Lou Reed, Jennifer Warnes, Dan Hicks, Cheryl Bentyne and Stephane Grappelli. This is a successful experiment combining the human voice with the bass guitar and it delivers some very soulful sounds. Bass guitar at it's finest! We Could Be So Good Together", "Five To One". Two 45 rpm LPs pressed on 200-gram vinyl at Quality Record Pressings/Also on Hybrid Multichannel SACD Part of The Doors reissue series proudly presented by Analogue Productions and Quality Record Pressings! Waiting For The Sun, The Doors’ third album and its first chart-topper, delivered the No. 1 signature smash “Hello, I Love You” and the Top 40 hit “The Unknown Soldier.” Slant Magazine proclaims that Waiting For The Sun contains some of The Doors’ prettiest, most genial lilts: “Love Street,” a fictionalized sketch of the Bohemian street where Morrison lived with his wife, Pamela Courson; the wistful “Summer's Almost Gone,” which includes the lovely refrain, “Morning found us calmly unaware/Noon burned gold into our hair”; and the placid piano ballad “Yes, The River Knows.” More and more, says Slant, Morrison was starting to emulate one of his idols, Frank Sinatra — “after all, they had an insatiable taste for women and alcohol in common.” Waiting For The Sun was also some of The Doors' most combative, political work. "The Unknown Soldier" was a barefaced antiwar attack, a reaction to the Vietnam-era hostilities brewing on the home front. Analogue Productions and Quality Record Pressings are proud to announce that six studio LP titles — The Doors, Strange Days, Waiting For The Sun, Soft Parade, Morrison Hotel and L.A. Woman — are featured on 200-gram vinyl, pressed at 45 rpm. All six titles are also available on Multichannel SACD! All were cut from the original analog masters by Doug Sax, with the exception of The Doors, which was made from the best analog tape copy. A truly authentic reissue project, the masters were recorded on tube equipment, and the tape machine used for the transfer of these releases is a tube machine, as is the cutting system. Tubes baby! This is no time to wallow in the mire. The Doors are on Analogue Productions! Originally released in 1968. Ray Manzarek, keyboards Jim Morrison, vocals John Densmore, drums Robby Krieger, guitar Technical notes about the recording process by Doors producer/engineer Bruce Botnick: "Throughout the record history of the Doors, the goal between Paul Rothchild and myself was to be invisible, as the Doors were the songwriters and performers. Our duty was to capture them in the recorded medium without bringing attention to ourselves. Of course, the Doors were very successful, and Paul and I did receive some acclaim, which we did appreciate. "If you listen to all the Doors albums, no attempt was made to create sounds that weren't generated by the Doors, except for the Moog Synthesizer on Strange Days, although that was played live in the mix by Jim, but that's another story. The equipment used was very basic, mostly tube consoles and microphones. Telefunken U47, Sony C37A, Shure 56. The echo used was from real acoustic echo chambers and EMT plate reverb units. In those days, we didn't have plug-ins or anything beyond an analogue eight-track machine. All the studios that we used, except for Elektra West, had three Altec Lansing 604E loudspeakers, as that was the standard in the industry, three-track. On EKS-74007, The Doors, we used four-track Ampex recorders and on the subsequent albums, 3M 56 eight-tracks. Dolby noise reduction units were used on two albums, Waiting For The Sun and The Soft Parade. Everything was analogue, digital was just a word. We didn't use fuzz tone or other units like that but created the sounds organically, i.e. the massive dual guitar solo on "When The Music's Over," which was created by feeding the output of one microphone preamp into another and adjusting the level to create the distortion. The tubes were glowing and lit up the control room. "When mastering for the 45-RPM vinyl release, we were successfully able to bake the original master tapes and play them to cut the lacquer masters." - Bruce Botnick, July 2012 "I received test pressings today for both Morrison Hotel and L.A. Woman. I have to tell you that these are the very best pressings I've heard in many, many moons. Great plating and your compound is so quiet that I clearly heard every fade out to its conclusion with no problem. Doug (Sax) and company did a lovely job, the tapes sound pretty damn good for being almost 50 years old and his system is clearly the best...You should be very proud of what you and your troops are doing." - Bruce Botnick, The Doors producer/engineer Click here to read a 1997 interview in The Tracking Angle with Doors producer/engineer Bruce Botnick. play 1. Dabei ist "L.A. »L. Analogue Productions und Quality Record Pressings kündigen hiermit voller Stolz alle sechs Studio-LPs - »The Doors«, »Strange Days«, »Waiting For The Sun«, »Soft Parade«, »Morrison Hotel« und »L. A. Woman« - auf 200g / 45rpm an. ************************************************************************************************** Please note: Individual Doors titles are not numbered. Only the Infinite 45 RPM LP and SACD box sets are numbered, and limited to 2,500 copies. Mastered by Doug Sax and overseen by Bruce Botnick, The Doors producer/engineer. Two 45 rpm LPs pressed on 200-gram vinyl at Quality Record Pressings/Also on Hybrid Multichannel SACD Deluxe gatefold jacket Part of The Doors reissue series proudly presented by Analogue Productions and Quality Record Pressings! The title track from this, the last Doors album recorded with Jim Morrison, who died shortly after it was released, has, said one reviewer, “maybe the best Chuck Berry riffs since the Stones.” And that’s not even mentioning “Love Her Madly,” which became one of the highest charting hits for The Doors. “Love Her Madly,” was written by Doors guitarist Robbie Krieger, who is said to have penned the song about the numerous times his girlfriend threatened to leave him. The song peaked at No. 11 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart and reached No. 3 in Canada. L.A. Woman was still high on the charts when, like in the lyric “actor out on loan” of its closing track — the celebrated “Riders on the Storm,” Jim Morrison died in a Paris bathtub in the summer of 1971. Via such tracks as “The Changeling,” “Crawling King Snake,” and the frothy, rollicking title track, the collection leaned heavily toward the Blues — in particular, Morrison’s boastful “Lizard King” brand of it. All-in-all, Rolling Stone proclaimed L.A. Woman, “The Doors’ greatest album, including their first,” and “A landmark worthy of dancing in the streets.” Analogue Productions and Quality Record Pressings are proud to announce that six studio LP titles — The Doors, Strange Days, Waiting For The Sun, Soft Parade, Morrison Hotel and L.A. Woman — are featured on 200-gram vinyl, pressed at 45 rpm. All six are also available on Multichannel SACD! All were cut from the original analog masters by Doug Sax, with the exception of The Doors, which was made from the best analog tape copy. This is no time to wallow in the mire. The Doors are on Analogue Productions! Originally released in 1971 Ray Manzarek, keyboards Jim Morrison, vocals John Densmore, drums Robby Krieger, guitar Technical notes about the recording process by Doors producer/engineer Bruce Botnick: "Throughout the record history of the Doors, the goal between Paul Rothchild and myself was to be invisible, as the Doors were the songwriters and performers. Doug (Sax) and company did a lovely job, the tapes sound pretty damn good for being almost 50 years old and his system is clearly the best...You should be very proud of what you and your troops are doing." - Bruce Botnick, The Doors producer/engineer Click here to read a 1997 interview in The Tracking Angle with Doors producer/engineer Bruce Botnick As soon as I held Analogue Productions' new pressing of L.A. Woman, I knew this LP was something truly special. The quality of the gatefold cover is astonishing, the colors pop and the weight of the materials are top-notch, it really is a beauty to behold. Upfront, I had some concerns of owning a 45 RPM LP (the shorter playing time per side, and the resulting record flips) but I found this was a short-lived issue. At 45 RPM the needle is reading more information than 33 RPM, so ideally this is the speed you want your vinyl to spin to achieve the absolute best sound quality. The two LPs are housed in high quality QRP inner sleeves, nearly identical to the MFSL sleeves - another firm statement of quality control. These are also great looking records with the classic Electra 'butterfly' labels and heavy-weight 200-gram vinyl. As soon as the needle dropped, real time stopped and the music flowed effortlessly from a deep blackness filled with vast dynamic contrasts and rich glowing tones. I read this album was remastered from the original analog tapes using an all-tube system - I just know the sound is awesome, with seemingly limitless analog resolution. Much of L.A. Woman is also deeply steeped in the Blues; hard-edged and often gritty performances exemplified by the Doors vicious cover of John Lee Hooker's 'Crawling King Snake'. On L.A. Woman, The Doors abandon the dated West Coast psychedelic flourishes of earlier albums for the more mature pop sensibility of 'Love Her Madly'. Outside of the prime songs, deep album cuts like 'The Wasp' illustrate Jim's often surreal poetic creativity. Sadly, this would be The Doors final album with Jim just before the darkness would envelop him in Paris. Significantly, L.A. Woman contains The Doors most mature and developed compositions and some of Jim's most ominous lyrics. A more cynical view of America and Los Angeles are vividly revealed by the famous title track - the blistering Hollywood noir 'L.A. Woman'. Their epic song 'Riders on the Storm' has the power to evoke spine-chilling emotions - this is cinematic music presented in full panoramic widescreen; the jazzy tempo, understated melody and poignant lyrics underscore the power and clarity of this stunning Analogue Productions pressing. I'm very happy to finally have the definitive audiophile vinyl edition of The Doors L.A. Woman in my growing vinyl LP collection. If you are a Classic Rock fan and/or a Doors fan spinning vinyl, or if you just want to be blown away by the sonic possibilities of audiophile vinyl, the Analogue Productions' edition of L.A. Woman is essential listening. - Paul Powell Jr, Acoustic Sounds Customer Side 1 play The Changeling play Love Her Madly play Been Down So Long Side 2 play Cars Hiss by My Window play L. A. (DOPPEL-LP-45RPM) Vielleicht geht es auch Ihnen so, wenn die LP mit „Where Do The Children Play“ beginnt: ein wohliger Schauer läuft über den Rücken, entspannt und freudig lauscht man der Musik, die man doch längst kennt. Stoughton Printing glossy gatefold jacket "...this new LP of Tea is a doozy. I hesitate to use the term 'last word' on anything, particularly records these days which can be remastered and even remixed (though very rarely), but this may well be the last LP pressing of this title that anyone will ever need. The dynamic scale, level of detail and the overall atmosphere of this pressing is superb. The warmth and suppleness of the sound is without equal. Yet another unqualified triumph from Kassem's sonic wonderland out on the Great Plains!" — Robert Baird, Stereophile.com, May 2015. Read the full review here. "Yes, it does sound better at 45rpm: more open, dynamic and not slightly pinched on the inner groove area since it's stretched out to two LPs and the sides don't have to go as far towards the center of the record. If you already have the 33 do you need the 45 set? Only if you are absolutely fanatically dedicated to this record. Then you won't regret the purchase. It will become a collectible so you really can't go wrong." — Music = 10/11; Sound = 10/11 - Michael Fremer, AnalogPlanet.com. Read the full review here. Just when you thought it couldn't get any better, Analogue Productions has upped the ante! Introducing Tea For The Tillerman on 45 RPM. If you thought the 33 1/3 version was something to behold, just wait until you hear this. But don't wait too long. Our license to reissue this classic smash is nearing expiration, meaning these 3,500 copies — each gold foil numbered — will become increasingly collectible. Why wait? Order your copy now. Kudos for our 33 1/3 version of Tea For The Tillerman: "Chad, I just spent the afternoon listening to several versions of Cat Stevens' Tea For The Tillerman. My Tea For The Tillerman collection includes: Mobile Fidelity UHQR, standard MFSL, original Island, Island re-issue, A&M audiophile half-speed, standard A&M issues and a French pressing. After listening there is no question the new Analogue Productions re-issue is by far the finest. Great job!" - Jack Lind, Acoustic Sounds customer "These (two new LPs from Reference Recordings) and Analog Production's remastering of Tea for the Tillerman were both pressed at Quality Record Pressings, the superb Salina, Kansas, facility, and they are the best and the quietest LPs I've heard of recordings made during the LP era. In a sense, the silences of QRP's pressings, their lack of those hard-to-define anomalies of stylus-in-groove sonics, are comparable to the kind of quietness inherent in a magnetic-drive turntable...QRP has put its best feet forward. 'Spectacular' in this case means a freedom from defects (snaps, crackles, and pops) and an absence of groove noise and what I would call vinyl 'rumble,' hard to define except by contrast with normal pressings." - Harry Pearson, The Absolute Sound, January 2012 (or Issue 219) "...All you really need to know is that in every way this first effort from 'QRP' is of the highest quality...gatefold packaging which looks just like the original, only better. As far as the sound goes it is equally brilliant...And wow listening to this impeccably pressed on 200g vinyl reissue. The attack of the pick on the guitar strings is astonishingly clean and detailed. Depth is pronounced and because of both the blackness of the backdrop and the precision of both the state-of-the-art plating and the technological breakthroughs achieved in the retro-fitted presses, the resolution of low-level detail reveals a host of details that are either buried or glossed over on the other versions I've heard and own." - Jack Roberts, Dagogo, October 2011 "...Like the glossy gatefold covers used in their deluxe Impulse 45 RPM series, the cover reproduction here is absolutely top-notch...The vinyl itself arrived perfectly clean and flat, and played with nary a pop or tic throughout...The pressing is of extremely high quality." - My Vinyl Review, August 29, 2011 In 1970, Lee Hulko at Sterling Sound cut Tea For The Tillerman for A&M Records in the U.S. and Island Records in the UK using a Telefunken M10 tape machine and a Neumann VMS 66 lathe with a Neumann SX68 cutterhead. Hulko started Sterling in 1968 and was its original mastering engineer. He's considered among the first engineers to advance mastering from just transferring music from tape to lacquer to an art where attention is paid to all the details that result in better sound. We actually found Hulko's original mastering notes from more than 40 years ago. It's incredible, but Sterling still has all of their notes filed away. So, it was originally cut at Sterling - as were all of the early original Cat Stevens albums - and the tapes were last used at Sterling. How appropriate then that we should go back to Sterling for this monumental reissue. Using the original tapes, George Marino handled the mastering this time. He used an Ampex ATR-102 tape machine, another significant point of interest. While Ampex has long been revered for their sound, they had never made a preview version so that a mastering engineer could cut a lacquer from an Ampex machine. Mike Spitz at ATR Services made a unique preview modification for Sterling so that they could cut this record using an Ampex along with a Neumann VMS 80 lathe with a Neumann SX 74 cutterhead. ************************************************************************************************

Aufnahmen 1966 (Original: Delmark Records). ************************************************************************************************** Now in a gatefold jacket with faithfully reproduced Delmark True Stereo artwork! Plated and pressed on 200-gram 2LP at Quality Record Pressings! New additional liner notes by Jim O'Neal, co-founder of Living Blues Magazine! "This viscerally punchy electric blues is anchored by unimprovable harp playing from Junior Wells, a young Buddy Guy by his side. From the kick of up-tempo numbers like "Snatch It Back and Hold It" to the deep, sexy, slow moan of "Early in the Morning," you just can't top this. Current audiophile bona fides are in excellent order, thanks to fine remastering by Kevin Gray and Analogue Productions for 45 RPM, LP, SACD/CD, and DSD download." — Sasha Matson, Stereophile's Records To Die For, February 2018 "...this album is DYNOMITE and this pressing is sweet. A truly great album done truly well." Music = 11/11; Sound = 10/11 - Mark Schlack One of the all-time great urban blues records and the best-seller in the famed Delmark catalog. Hoodoo Man Blues is so full of bravado and snap it'll make you feel tough just listening to it. Not all of the Delmark titles were recorded very well, but this one certainly was. And at 45 RPM 2LP, plated and pressed at Quality Record Pressings, this now stands as the undisputed definitive version. For 2020 we've added a redesigned gatefold jacket with new artwork, plus, additional liner notes from Jim O'Neal, co-founder of Living Blues Magazine. Hoodoo Man Blues, which features Buddy Guy on guitar, is not only Junior Wells' first LP appearance, it's damn near the first LP by a Chicago blues band. Chess and a few other labels had reissued 45s by Muddy Waters, Sonny Boy Williamson, Howlin' Wolf, Jimmy Reed, Elmore James, etc., but virtually no one had tried to capture the Chicago blues sound free of the limitations of juke box/airplay promotion. Hoodoo Man Blues went a long way in the popularization of real Chicago blues and of Junior Wells. Originally released in 1965. Junior Wells, harmonica, vocals Buddy Guy, guitar Jack Myers, bass Billy Warren, drums ***************************************************************************************************

Aufnahmen 1988 in Bilbao, Spanien. (1989/2020) *********************************************************************************************** *** Gatefold Cover Joan Baez (arr, voc, g); Mercedes Sosa (voc); Laythan Armor (keyb); Cesar Cancino (p); Jean Marie Ecay (g); John Acosta, Costel Restea (vc); Jose Agustin Guereu (b); Begnat Amorena (dr); u. a. ************************************************************************************************* The ultimate pressings of the Beach Boys discography from Analogue Productions! Surfer Girl, the Beach Boys' third album for Capitol Records, was the first produced by Brian Wilson on his own (the previous two, Surfin Safari and Surfin Usa (Mono & Stereo Remasters), were co-produced by the late Capitol A&R man, Nick Venet). This album was The Boys' first really great effort; there's not a bad track in the lot, including the title song, "Catch A Wave," "In My Room," "Hawaii," "Our Car Club," "Little Deuce Coupe," "Your Summer Dream," and more. Apart from Surfin' Safari, which was mono only, the Beach Boys did turn in stereo masters on all of their early albums up until 1965. The Beach Boys Today! was the first LP for which they only delivered a mono master. The stereo editions of Surfin' USA, Surfer Girl, Little Deuce Coupe, Shut Down Vol. 2, All Summer Long, Beach Boys Christmas Album and Beach Boys Concert were all mixed in stereo by their own preferred engineer, Chuck Britz, ostensibly under the group's supervision. "Brian may or may not have been present for those mixing sessions — evidence suggests that he trusted Chuck's skills enough to let him prepare those mixes on his own — but the group held onto their multitrack tapes and delivered stereo masters to Capitol, rather than allowing Capitol to prepare their own stereo versions. Later, when Brian was only delivering mono masters, Capitol would prepare the Duophonic pseudo stereo editions for the stereo market," says Alan Boyd, producer and Beach Boys' archivist. The Beach Boys' practice of double-tracking their vocals really lends itself to stereo mixes. Split left and right, as they are on a lot of those early stereo versions, those doubled vocal parts can really envelop the listener, surrounding them with Wilsons, Loves and Jardines! All of the newer stereo mixes on these remastered albums (The Beach Boys Today!, Summer Days (And Summer Nights!!), The Beach Boys' Party, Pet Sounds and Smiley Smile) were all done by Mark Linett on behalf of the Beach Boys. **************************************************************************************************
